The Rock Finds His ‘Make America Great Again’ While Discussing Running For President

When Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson fought John Cena “Paper, Scissors” Cena at WrestleMania XXVIII, it was dubbed “the Most Anticipated WrestleMania Match of All Time.” That’s how I feel about the 2020 presidential election. It’s unlikely, but the two-person race could come down to The Rock vs. Joe Biden.

Both men have expressed interest in the presidency, with Biden, a registered Democrat, announcing, “I never thought [Hillary Clinton] was the correct candidate, I thought I was the correct candidate,” and The Rock, a registered Republican, saying it’s a “real possibility” he’ll run in 2020. The Fate of the Furious star even has better odds at becoming president than our current president (although, unlike The Rock, Trump’s in the WWE Hall of Fame).

On Thursday’s The Tonight Show, The Rock told host Jimmy Fallon that he’s been “incredibly flattered” and “blown away” by the positive response to his maybe running for president. But why him and not, say, Tom Hanks? “A lot of people want to see a different leadership today,” The Rock explained. “Or, I’m sorry, a better leadership today.” He even has his talking points down pat: gets up early, hard worker, spends time with the troops, loves his family, “more poise, less noise” (is that his “Make America Great Again”?). But “three-and-a-half years is a long ways away,” The Rock teased, “so we’ll see.”

You’ll know it’s for real when Fallon tousles his bald head.
