YouTube TV hasn’t been everyone’s favorite Live TV option. Many still prefer SlingTV or DIRECTV NOW, to each his own. Personally, I’ve been using YouTube TV since it’s introduction and it’s been a great service to have. Now YouTube is expanding the service to offer more channels and new markets. One caveat though, the expansion is also bringing a new price tag.
For now, the price will remain at $35USD a month but only for a limited time. It won’t be long until that price goes up to $40USD a month so you’d better get on it now if you want it. The good news for current subscribers is. It looks like we won’t be seeing the increase, we will continue to pay the $35USD a month. Though I’m sure given some time, that will change as well.
Now the service offers over 50 channels of content and some of the new channels include TNT, Adult Swim, TBS, CNN, Cartoon Network, truTV, and Turner Classic Movies. The service is also expanding to all top 100 U.S. markets which should cover 85% of U.S. households. New markets include Lexington, Dayton, Honolulu, Richmond, Mobile, and Syracuse. You can check out the YouTube TV website to see if you are in a covered market.
But wait, there’s more! We’re thrilled to announce that we’re soon adding NBA TV, the league’s 24-hour network, and MLB Network, Major League Baseball’s award-winning 24/7 TV network, to the YouTube TV base package. And in the coming months, you’ll also be able to watch NBA League Pass, the league’s premium out-of-market live game service, or MLB.TV, the longest running sports streaming service in the U.S., for an extra fee. Game on!
Better act fast if you want to get all the goodies for $35USD a month. March 13th is when the price hike goes into effect.
