Marvel’s latest season recap poster for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. puts the focus on Ghost Rider as the show heads towards episode 100. Though the ratings haven’t always been what people hoped for when it came to Marvel’s first TV show – launching on the back of The Avengers nonetheless – Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has maintained a steady and passionate audience and has only grown in the eyes of critics. Soon, season 5 will usher in episode 100 of the series, setting up the show for future syndication and promising to offer fans some big surprises.
To celebrate the iconic moment, Marvel announced the ‘Road To 100’ art project at the end of last year. The series sees each season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. recapped by a different comic book artist, pulling together key moments from the biggest episodes. The season 2 and 3 posters, for instance, focused heavily on the Inhumans subplots of the past few years and how they eventually tied into Hydra. For the season 4 poster, Hydra features as well – though second to Ghost Rider.
Marvel released the new ‘Road To 100’ poster recapping season 4 of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The photo-realistic art comes courtesy of Rahzzah, who manages to encapsulate the big moments within the flames of Ghost Rider’s skull.
We see AIDA and the Hydra base within the Framework, not to mention evil Fitz and the death of Patriot. Overlooking everything, however, is an intimate Philinda moment, bringing back bittersweet memories of the LMD May finally making a move on Coulson.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.‘s midseason premiere next week will see the characters back in the present – and on Earth – but facing some serious threats from the government. Of course, that’s a position S.H.I.E.L.D. is often in so expect some twists on the formula. Following that, episode 100 will air and bring about some major changes at the season’s halfway point. We know Ghost Rider’s deal with Coulson will play a big role in the milestone episode, so the new poster is a fitting reminder that there’s likely hell to pay.
In the meantime, the past of the show will be coming back in major ways. Similar to last season, we’ll see the return of key characters. For example, Absorbing Man returning to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. And with any luck, perhaps Mockingbird will stop in just as Hunter did recently. Either way, expect some major moments when episode 100 airs on March 9.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 5 continues March 2 on ABC.
